Northbrook Police Chief Retires After 30 Years With Department

NORTHBROOK, IL — The Village of Northbrook is thanking Police Chief John Ustich for three decades of service to the community as he retires from the Northbrook Police Department.

Ustich joined the department in 1996 and served in a number of roles during his career, including patrol officer, detective, sergeant, patrol commander, deputy chief and chief of police, according to the village.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Ustich led the department with integrity, steady leadership and a commitment to leaving it stronger than he found it, village officials said.

“The Village of Northbrook extends its sincere thanks to Chief John Ustich for 30 years of dedicated service to the Northbrook community,” officials said in the announcement.

Village officials wished Ustich well in his retirement.
