Leadership Northbrook Applications Open For 2026-27 Program

The eight-month Chamber initiative gives participants an inside look at local government, business, education and community institutions.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Applications are now open for the 2026-27 Leadership Northbrook program, an eight-month initiative aimed at developing more informed, connected and civically engaged community leaders.

Organized by the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the program brings together professionals from businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, schools and civic organizations.

The next session begins in September and runs through April, with meetings scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on the second Friday of each month.

"This program helps participants see Northbrook through a new lens," Chamber President Kathi Quinn said in a statement. "Leadership Northbrook creates stronger leaders by connecting them with the people, organizations and ideas that drive our community forward."

Tours, Discussions And Leadership Training

Each monthly session combines interactive discussions, behind-the-scenes tours, leadership-development activities and networking opportunities with local officials and other decision-makers.

Topics covered during the program include:

Northbrook's history and development
Local government and public policy
Economic development and business growth
Public safety and emergency services
Healthcare and human services
Education and workforce development
Arts, culture and community engagement
Leadership skills and team building

Participants also receive firsthand access to community leaders and institutions while developing skills they can apply within their workplaces and the broader community.

"Graduates leave with valuable relationships, a deeper understanding of local issues and practical leadership skills they can immediately apply," Quinn said.

Who Should Apply

The Chamber said Leadership Northbrook is intended for both emerging and established professionals seeking to strengthen their leadership abilities, expand their professional networks and become more involved in the community.

Graduates join an alumni network whose members have gone on to serve on nonprofit boards, volunteer locally and take on leadership roles throughout the region.

Applications are being accepted for review, and space is limited.
