Crash On Southbound I-294 Near Lake Cook Road Causes Morning Delays

NORTHBROOK, IL — A single-vehicle crash caused delays on southbound Interstate 294 near Lake-Cook Road early Monday morning, according to Illinois State Police.

ISP Troop 3 responded at about 5:39 a.m. to southbound I-294 at milepost 52, south of Illinois Route 68 in Cook County.

A preliminary investigation indicates a passenger vehicle struck the median, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Lake County PASSAGE warned drivers shortly after the crash to expect heavy delays on southbound I-294 south of Lake-Cook Road, citing Waze traffic data.

Traffic reporter Bill West also reported crews were pulling a car from the left ditch and noted slight gaper delays around the scene.

ISP said no additional information was available.
