• Northbrook appoints 20-year department veteran as next chief of police (chicagotribune.com) — Northbrook has sworn in longtime officer Marc Fainman as its new police chief, just as planning advances for a modernized village police station expected within three to five years. Fainman, a Glenbrook North graduate and Northbrook native, says he'll focus on officer wellness, expanded counseling services for residents and staff, and updating training and procedures to meet today's policing demands.
