• Fall Fishing Fest Returns To Northbrook With Kids' Derby, Free Gear (patch.com) — Families in Northbrook can head to Lake Shermerville on Sunday, Oct. 11, for the second annual Fall Fishing Fest, featuring a kids' fishing derby with trophies, free rods and bait, and wildlife education. Organized by the Northbrook Park District with regional partners, the event at Wood Oaks Green Park also offers games, environmental groups, Cub Scout participation, and prize giveaways, highlighting outdoor fun close to home.
• Driver Displays Gun During Road Rage Incident: Northbrook Police Blotter (patch.com) — Northbrook residents can see how local police responded to a series of recent incidents, including a road rage case where a driver allegedly displayed a handgun near Willow and Pfingsten and a swatting call on Bittersweet. The blotter also details a large bank fraud targeting a Dundee Road business, a stolen Infiniti on Whisperwoods Court, pickpocketing on Skokie Boulevard, and several traffic and warrant arrests around town.
• No reported injuries after shots fired on Edens near Highland Park (therecordnorthshore.org) — Investigators are looking into reported gunshots on the Edens Expressway near the Route 41 transition, with officials now believing the incident likely happened just south of Tower Road near Northbrook and Glencoe. No serious injuries were reported, but police are searching for a dark blue Acura MDX as Illinois State Police continue the investigation.
