The Wheeling Township Community Mental Health Board (WTCMHB) is accepting applications from Township residents interested in serving a four-year volunteer term as a Board Member, with applications due by Wednesday, November 11. This is an opportunity for a resident to help guide initiatives that strengthen support and access to services for individuals and families in need.

Board Members help guide the WTCMHB's mission to support Township residents affected by mental health challenges, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. Through grant funding, partnerships with local service providers and community outreach, the Board works to expand access to essential resources and strengthen the local network of care.

"Serving on the Community Mental Health Board is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents who rely on these critical services," said WTCMHB Executive Director Karin Frisk. "We encourage residents who are passionate about community well-being and helping individuals and families facing a range of challenges to apply and contribute their perspectives and experience to the Board's work."

Applicants must be residents of Wheeling Township and may not be full- or part-time employees of the Illinois Department of Human Services. Individuals who serve as board members, employees, or other compensated representatives of facilities or services operating under contract with the Community Mental Health Board are also ineligible.

Interested applicants should submit a resume (including full home address) and a cover letter. The cover letter should explain interest in serving on the Board, vision for the Board, relevant experience and contributions from other board service, if applicable, and availability to commit to monthly evening meetings, and other Board activities. Application materials should be emailed to kfrisk@wheelingtownship.com.
