NORTHBROOK, IL — Neighbors can help decorate shared ceramic artwork and support the Northfield Township Food Pantry during a week of free activities at a Northbrook nonprofit art studio.
I Just Am Studio will host Cup of Kindness Week Nov. 9–13 at 1975 Shermer Road. Residents of Northbrook, Glenview and surrounding communities of all ages and abilities are invited to participate.
The event's centerpiece is Dish of Kindness, a free collaborative ceramic workshop in which participants add their own touches to shared artwork. One visitor might begin decorating a plate, with others contributing to the same piece throughout the week.
Workshop space is limited, and advance registration is required.
Visitors are encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations for the Northfield Township Food Pantry. Those who donate can enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee or hot cocoa as a thank you.
Families can also visit the Kids Corner, which will offer creative activities for younger participants.
"Creativity has a wonderful way of bringing people together," founder Janice Weinstein tells Patch. "Cup of Kindness Week is an invitation to connect with our neighbors, share something meaningful and discover how even small gestures can make a difference."
The studio offers art classes, workshops and community programs for people of all ages and abilities.
Admission to Cup of Kindness Week is free. Daily drop-in hours, workshop schedules and registration are available on the studio's event page.
