Salon Raises $1600 for Earth Month, Alliance for Great Lakes

Andreas Hogue Salon in Northbrook, in partnership with Aveda, just completed an Earth Month fundraiser to benefit the Alliance for Great Lakes. The salon sold Aveda candles ($12 each) and raffled off more than 20 premium salon services (raffle tickets just $2 each) with 100% of proceeds going towards the Alliance for Great Lakes. Money raised will help better water quality, promote water conservation, restore and enhance habitats and maintain healthy beaches in and around Lake Michigan and the other Great Lakes.

Aveda’s April 2012 Earth Month campaign has inspired its network of beauty professionals and consumers in more than 30 countries to raise $4.5 million for the protection of clean water — a basic human right that nearly 900 million people worldwide fight for daily.

Andreas Hogue Salon was asked to commit to $820 towards the $4.5 million. The salon was pleased to nearly double its pledge and would like to thank all the generous clients who participated.

"Both our guests and our staff truly embraced this fundraiser," said Andreas Hogue. "We have shown that even small contributions can add up to a lot and I think we all feel really good knowing that our efforts will impact us locally with Lake Michigan."

Each month, in its efforts to give back to the community, Andreas Hogue Salon sponsors a different fundraiser to benefit a local charity, event, or organization.
