Another Senior Center Could Come to Northbrook

96-bed assisted living facility would specialize in those with Alzheimer's.

If getting old and wise are always linked as the saying goes, then Northbrook may see even more wisdom in the coming years.

The village, already demographically one of the oldest towns in the area, has approved plans for one senior center to be built within its limits and will consider an application for another.

The Chicago Tribune reports a partnership of Northbrook builders has applied to tear down three houses on the southwest corner of Shermer and Techny roads and build Patriot Partners Care Center, a 96-bed assisted-living facility specializing in residents with Alzheimer’s disease.

The Northbrook Inn, a 69-bed assisted-living center, was approved for the space at 99 Pointe Drive on the village’s far northwest side.
