Northbrook Woman's Club Foundation's 'Heart of the Village' Gala

On Saturday, February 9 th , over 200 members and guests attended Northbrook Woman’s Club
Foundation’s ‘Heart of the Village’ Gala at Mission Hills Club. The very successful event raised $60,000! Along with Corporate Donations and other fundraising events, the Woman’s Club Foundation will be awarding $70,000 to eligible Grant applicants and local Students. Student scholarships are granted to high school seniors as well as current college/ technical school students. To date, the amount contributed to non-profit organizations that serve the needs of local residents and student scholarships exceeds $1,000,000.

Co-chairs of the event, Jessica Deming and Mary Anne Flanagan, along with a dedicated committee, hosted a glamorous evening. It included silent auction items, paddle raise/donation collection, many raffle drawings, blackjack for prizes, dinner and dancing. Through incredible member support and phenomenal corporate involvement from more than 90 local businesses, the Gala was able to achieve their fundraising goals.

The 64-year old club prides itself on supporting the Northbrook community while providing its members a means to service local programs and attend special interests events. Programs include regularly serving retirement homes, veteran’s needs, local hospitals, animal shelters, Youth Services (Glenview Study Buddies) and many more.

Generous platinum and gold sponsors of the event included Nancy Gibson with @properties [platinum], The Nancy Gibson Group, Daniel S. Tresley, MD, Waldorf Astoria, Fred Astaire Dance Studio, Bank Financial, Schwall Builders, Anets Woods, and North Suburban YMCA. There were an additional 12 silver sponsors, 48 bronze sponsors, and dozens more businesses who contributed products/services to the event.
