NORTHBROOK, IL — A protest, being labeled as a Black Lives Matter/Justice for George Floyd event, scheduled for Friday in Northbrook has been postponed until Monday, according to the Village of Northbrook.

One of the event organizers, Northbrook's Sofia Thompson, told Patch that the rescheduled protest will begin at 4 p.m. at the corner of Cherry Lane and Western Avenue. She said donations will taken at the same location between 2-4 p.m. Monday.

"The goal of Monday’s event is to raise money and collect donations for organizations, as well as peacefully protest the systemic racial injustice that currently plagues our nation," Thompson said.
