Keshet will host its first-ever “Donate for Mothers” blood drive on May 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Northbrook as part of Vitalant’s national campaign.
The event is inspired by a local mother’s experience. In February 2025, after giving birth to her daughter Cecilia, Keshet staff member Lexi Silvers-Castillon experienced a severe postpartum complication and required multiple blood transfusions.
“The blood I received is the reason I am here today and able to raise my daughter. Blood donation is not symbolic. It is lifesaving in the most literal sense,” Silvers-Castillon said.
The blood drive reflects Keshet’s commitment to building inclusive, supportive communities and showing up for one another in moments that matter most.
