Calls From Sheriff's Office Are Scams: Northbrook PD

NORTHBROOK, IL — Police are warning Northbrook residents that telephone scammers are pretending to be with the Cook County Sheriff's Office and hoping to gather personal information. Typical calls involve the scammer saying there is an "urgent legal matter" or they have a warrant after missing jury duty.

Resident should not provide any personal or financial information to these callers. Police are hoping residents can spread the message to friends, family, and neighbors.
