Car Stolen from Northbrook Toyota: Cops

Thieves stole drugs from CVS on Willow Road and other police items in Northbrook.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department.

STOLEN AUTO
An employee at Northbrook Toyota in the 1500 block of Skokie Highway reported at 6:29 p.m. on Sept. 8 that while conducting an inventory of used vehicles a 1985 Toyota Camry was discovered missing from the lot. The vehicle was taken as trade for a new purchase in March and was to be sent to auction.

STOLEN VEHICLE
A victim in the 300 block of Rosewood Ct. reported that his 2003 silver Mercedes was stolen from the front of his residence sometime between 10 p.m. Sept. 8 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 9. The vehicle was locked and the keys were not inside the vehicle.

WARRANT ARREST
Anthony D. Hayes, 18, Evergreen Park was charged on a retail theft warrant at 2 p.m. on Sept. 9. Northbrook detectives developed information that the defendant was one of four offenders involved in the theft of purses from Saks Off 5th on June 2, 2016. The defendant surrendered himself to detectives at the police station.

BICYCLE THEFT
A victim in the 2800 block of Maria Drive reported a woman’s bicycle was taken from the driveway of the house between 2-6 p.m. on Sept. 9. The bicycle was described as a pink woman’s bike with a basket and bell valued at $125.

BATTERY
Holly C. Carlson, 63, of the 900 block of Red Haw was charged with battery at 9:49 a.m. on Sept. 13. The victim reported that she was working in an office in the residence when the defendant came into the room and attempted to grab some files from the victim’s hands. When the defendant was unable to get the files she grabbed to victim by the arm and pulled her from the chair.

BURGLARY
A victim in the 2300 block of Cambridge reported that she was in the shower when she heard a loud bang. She reported that once she finished showering she heard voices coming from the living quarters of the residence. In checking, she observed a bedroom door standing open that she knew had been closed and she contacted police. Responding officers arrived and discovered the front door to the residence had been forced open. The complainant reported that several cabinets and closets had been opened but nothing appeared to have been stolen.

THEFT
A store employee at the CVS in the 900 block of Willow Road reported that three subjects entered the store on Sept. 14 at 10:40 a.m. The store video surveillance recorded them removing various over the counter drugs and leaving without paying for the merchandise.

WARRANT ARREST
Juan Moran Ayala, 20, Des Plaines was charged with a warrant on Sept. 15. The defendant was stopped in Niles where Niles police discovered that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Northbrook.
