Caregiver Charged With Theft: Police

A Palatine man faces a disorderly conduct charge after allegedly urinating at a park.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

THEFT

A woman told police she had her wallet taken from inside her purse sitting in the shopping cart while shopping in the 800 block of Willow Road around 8:57 p.m. on August 21.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED/SPEEDING

Alexander Theo, 30, Chicago was stopped at Voltz and Braeside at 10:51 a.m. on August 23 and charged with driving while license revoked and speeding.

BURGLARY

A complainant in the 3600 block of Commercial Ave. reported person(s) unknown gained access to the two landscape trailers on the property by cutting the locks sometime between noon and 3:43 p.m. on August 22. Taken were two lawn mowers, two backpack blowers, two line trimmers and two chain saws (total value $3,600).

RETAIL THEFT

Romeo G. Rodriguez, 60, Morton Grove was charged with retail theft after allegedly removing $14.99 in merchandise from a store in the 4100 block of Dundee at 1:27 p.m. on August 25.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Alexander J. Grochowski, 31, Palatine was charged with disorderly conduct at 3:57 p.m. on August 25 in the 1800 block of Walters. A complainant called about a subject urinating in the park by the playground.

THEFT

Magdalen Martina Chungu, 24, Skokie was charged with theft at 7:49 p.m. on August 20 in the 1200 block of Rudolph. The defendant, a caregiver of elderly residents, is accused of theft of jewelry and money.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

Grafitti was found written on the cement base of a shelter column in the 1700 block of Techny at 11:57 a.m. on August 26. Employees attempted to remove the graffiti, but the markings were still visible.

RETAIL THEFT

A white male, mid 20’s approx. 5’7”, attempted to steal protein products from a store in the 800 block of Willow at 3:20 p.m. on August 26. When he was confronted by a complainant at the door, the subject dropped the items and fled on foot through the parking lot.

SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Juan J. Campos, 26, Wheeling was stopped at Skokie and Lake Cook at 9:47 p.m. on August 26 and cited for driving while suspended.
