Chamber Program Will Help Businesses Understand Sick Leave Law

Northbrook Chamber of Commerce will host a roundtable on November 14 for employers on the requirements of the new Paid Sick Leave ordinance.

The Northbrook Chamber of Commerce invites small business owners to a roundtable to learn more about a new law requiring all employers to provide paid sick leave.

Following recent action taken by the Village of Northbrook, businesses will be required to comply with the Cook County Paid Sick Leave ordinance, effective January 1, 2019. Any business, regardless of size or number of employees will need to comply with the law. To help businesses understand more about the requirements, the Chamber’s Small Office/Home Office roundtable on Wednesday, November 14 will feature a short presentation by attorney Susan Troestler, partner with LaPointe Law, P.C. and an employment law specialist.

The program will be held at the Chamber office, 2002 Walters Avenue, from 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. There is no charge to attend; however, reservations are required. To RSVP call (847 )513-6005 or e-mail info@northbrookchamber.org. The format of the lunch is an informal brown bag roundtable, with time for questions and answers.
