Children's Book Drive Continues In Northbrook

State Rep. Jonathan Carroll (D-Northbrook) is conducting the drive through the end of May.

NORTHBROOK, IL — If you're looking to donate some books to local families in need, State Rep. Jonathan Carroll (D-Northbrook) is conducting a drive through the end of May. Children's books can be dropped off at his office at 3153 Dundee Road.

Following collection, the books will be donated to local families in need. The drive is seeking donations of books for reading levels from beginner through sixth grade. Reference titles, textbooks or activity books, along with religious works are not being sought and should be donated elsewhere, according to a news release.

"Reading is one of the best measures to promote academic and lifelong success," Carroll said. "Helping to ensure that every child has the opportunity to get their hands — and their eyes — on as many books as possible during their formative years is a key part of developing our state’s most precious resource, our children."
