Co-Worker Thwarts Attack by 2 Men With Baseball Bats

A man was hospitalized after an attack by two others in a parking lot after work last week, but a coworker prevented it from getting worse.

NORTHBROOK, IL - Two men attacked a man leaving work in a parking lot in Northbrook with a baseball bat last week.

According to police, a man told officers at 3:54 p.m. on Dec. 19 he was walking toward his vehicle in a parking lot in the 3300 block of Commercial Avenue when two men wearing ski masks stepped out and “started to beat him with a baseball bat.”

A co-worker observed the attack and drove her car to where the victim had tried to flee toward Huehl Road.

When seeing the co-worker, the offenders fled in a black vehicle that was headed eastbound on Commercial Avenue but left the victim injured. Paramedics arrived and transported the man to the hospitals.

The offenders were both described as 5’9” to 5’11” and wearing jeans and black or gray jackets.
