Dance Marathon 29 Pushes All-time Total Raised Over $34M At Iowa

More than 500 current University of Iowa students participated in the 29th annual student-led Dance Marathon, generating more than $1.1 million for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Dance Marathon has generated more than $34 million in its history. Local students from Northbrook include:

The final tally raised by the students was $1,174,778, a total which pushed the amount of support generated by Dance Marathon over the course of its 29-year history to more than $34 million.

Matlin Named to Illinois Wesleyan University's Fall 2022 Dean's List

Leah Matlin, of Northbrook, was named to the Dean's List for the fall semester of the 2022-23 academic year at Illinois Wesleyan University. Matlin is a senior majoring in Psychology / English - Writing. Matlin was among 757 students from 28 states and 28 countries named to the Fall 2022 Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a GPA of 3.50 or better during the semester, based on 4.0 for straight As.

Samford University Names Lundgaard To Dean's List

Kelsey Lundgaard, of Northbrook, was among the 2,022 students named to Samford University's Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

Local Students Make Carthage College Dean's List

More than 950 students qualified for the Fall 2022 dean's list at Carthage College, including these local Northbrook students:

Dean's list honors are accorded to Carthage students who achieve a minimum 3.5 grade-point average while carrying at least 14 credit hours during a semester.

The University of Tampa's December 2022 Commencement

The University of Tampa hosted a commencement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 16 to honor the 985 degree-seeking candidates at the University's 155th commencement. The event was attended by the students, their family members and friends, UT faculty and staff members, and the general public. The ceremony included remarks by Kim Morris, assistant professor of health sciences and human performance, and the student challenge speaker. The following local Northbrook students graduated from The University of Tampa:

• Rebecca Charen graduated with a Education-Elementary (K-6) BS degree
• Jacob Kieffer graduated with a Sport Management BS degree

Augustana College's Fall Semester Dean's List

Augustana College announced more than 1,000 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2022-23 fall semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term. Local Northbrook students include:
