Concerns Rise From Possible Sober Living Facility in Northbrook

Facility for former addicts causes concern over property values, crime.

NORTHBROOK, IL - Community members and plan commissioners in Northbrook were equally wary of a planned sober living facility that’s been proposed for Sunset Ridge Road.

Stephanie Zwilling, a licensed clinical social worker, wants to open the facility for men age 18-30 at a 2.4-acre parcel at 1620 Sunset Ridge Road, according to a Northbrook Star report.

Residents voiced concern over a possible loss of property values to homes in the area and that the new development could bring crime, although Zwilling said the home would only be for former addicts “committed to sobriety.”
