NORTHBROOK, IL — Covenant Living of Northbrook, a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, recently held its annual appreciation luncheon to recognize and present gifts to first-responders, as well as heads of the Northbrook Public Library and the Northfield Township Food Pantry.

Monetary donations were made to each organization as an "expression of gratitude and appreciation." Funds were raised for the donations from items sold during the annual Holly Fair.

"Every year our residents create handmade goods, paintings, wood carvings and more to sell to the public with one goal in mind — that is giving back to the greater community," said Bob Martin, Covenant Living of Northbrook resident and Holly Fair committee treasurer. "It is just part of our culture here to pay it forward in a sense to the first responders, along with the library and food pantry. They all do so much for the citizens in the Northbrook area."
