Cubs Fan From Northbrook Was Born in 1908

NORTHBROOK, IL - If it happens, the Cubs winning the World Series this year will be a once-in-a-lifetime event for nearly every person on the planet.

But not for Northbrook resident Mabel Ball, who is 108 years old. The current resident of the Covenant Village retirement center was born in 1908.

It turns out Ball is a Cubs fan as well, although she has only been to Wrigley Field one time. That was on her 90th birthday and was a gift from her family.

The Northbrook Star tells the story of Ball, who offers a few surprising answers on who her favorite players have been over the last 108 years.
