Cup-in-Hand Kickball Tournament Returns To Northbrook
Team registration is available through Thursday for the annual Northbrook Park District event.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The Northbrook Park District's Cup-in-Hand kickball tournament returns this weekend, offering adults 21 and over a chance to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of friendly competition and adult beverages.
The tournament starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Techny Prairie Park and Fields, 1750 Techny Road. Park district officials said the exact schedule will be determined by the number of teams entered. It is a co-ed event where at least a third of each team's roster must be women. Rosters must have between six and 12 players, and a cash prize will be given to the first and second place teams.
Captains can register their teams online at nbparks.org/events/kickballtournament, or in person at any park district registration facility. Registration is $315 per team and the deadline to register is 5 p.m. Thursday. All participants will be required to sign a waiver and will need to show proof of ID prior to the start of the tournament.

"The tournament is always a great time for everyone, with plenty of thrilling kicks and strategic plays as teams battle it out on the field," Northbrook Park District Recreation Supervisor Dan CatronCatron said. "But rest assured, this event welcomes all players, whether they are experts at kickball or first-timers. At the end of the day, it’s all about camaraderie and good fun."
Beer and seltzer will be available at the event, and each player will be allowed one beverage
per game, according to the park district. Outside beverages are not allowed. Team captains will be given tickets that players can redeem for drinks (maximum one drink per game). When teams aren’t on the field, players have the option to purchase additional drinks.
