Diamond Earrings Stolen from Northbrook Home

Also, a Northbrook Resident is missing an envelope filled with cash

Theft

A Northbrook resident reported that she is missing $ 3,400 from an unsealed envelope from desk drawer.

Retail theft

Three or four people left a store on the 100 block of Skokie with 10 pairs of True Religion jeans on August 20. Offenders fled in a green Chevy Cavalier in an unknown direction.

Burglary

A resident told police on August 19 that he had left the overhead garage door open, expecting an employee to stop by and pick up some supplies. When the complainant closed the garage door at 1700 hours he noticed the items missing from the garage and thought that the employee had stopped by and picked them up. On 08/20/14 complainant spoke to his employee and was told that he had not stopped by and had not picked up any supplies. Complainant believes an unknown offender entered the garage and removed the items having a total value $375.

DUI

Jose Luis Ortega, 21, of Highwood, was stopped for traffic violations. Officers determined that the defendant was under the influence. He was placed under arrest, transported to PSB for processing. The defendant was released on bond.

Drug possession

Jordan A. Shulman was stopped for speeding on August 18. Officers found that the defendant was in possession of cannabis and paraphernalia. He was issued a local ordinance violation at the scene and released.

Theft

A pair of diamond earrings valued at $4,840 was taken from a Northbrook home on 08/14/14. The earrings were left on the nightstand on 08/13/14. Several companies have had access to the home for remodeling and they could have simply been grabbed while someone was working.
