Donate Your Used Greeting Cards
Northbrook Public Library seeks greeting card donations for St. Jude's Ranch fundraiser.

Many families have a box of old holiday and birthday cards, and with the help of the Northbrook Public Library, you can recycle your greeting card clutter for a good cause. During the month of June, the Library will be accepting donations of used greeting cards to send to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children to support one of their long-running fundraisers.
St. Jude’s Ranch for Children is based in Nevada, and has spent the last 45 years providing healing and nurturing for thousands of abused, abandoned, and neglected children. The greeting card recycling program has been a fundraiser of St. Jude’s Ranch for Children for about three decades.
From the donations they receive, St. Jude’s Ranch recycles used greeting cards to create new holiday and all-occasion cards, which are then sold to support their services and programs. Children at the Ranch use the face of the card and attach a new back to create unique cards for people to buy. The children at St. Jude’s Ranch are also paid for their work, which helps teach them basic job skills and the importance of recycling.

From June 1 to June 30, visitors to the Northbrook Public Library can donate their old greeting cards in the lobby to be sent to St. Jude’s Ranch. While St. Jude’s Ranch is especially seeking birthday and thank you cards for their recycling program, cards for any occasion are accepted. Cards with writing on the inside are also accepted. You do not need to have a Northbrook Public Library card to donate your used greeting cards.
