Eck Named New Principal At Northbrook's Westmoor School
Maria Eck is currently the principal of Spring Hill Elementary School in McLean, Virginia.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Saying she's a "perfect match" for the position, Northbrook District 28 has announced that Maria Eck will be the new principal at Westmoor School. Following the recommendation of Superintendent Dr. Jason Pearson, the board of education approved Eck at its Tuesday meeting.
"I look forward to getting to know the students, collaborating with staff and working together with families to continue to build on the welcoming culture of Westmoor School," Eck said in a video address sent to parents.
Eck, who brings 12 years of experience as a principal of elementary, middle and high schools to Northbrook, begins July 1. She is currently the principal of Spring Hill Elementary School in McLean, Virginia, and has been with the district there for the past 18 years.

The district said Eck was selected after a comprehensive search process. The search began by creating a candidate profile based on feedback from staff and parent surveys. Eight candidates were selected to interview with an administrative team, and five finalists advanced to interview with a team of Westmoor teachers and parents.
"The Westmoor community identified through survey feedback that they wanted someone who makes decisions in the best interest of students, has excellent communication skills, and shows warmth, humor, and interest in others," Pearson said. "Ms. Eck comes to Northbrook 28 with extensive experience as a school leader and her skills and background are a perfect match for Westmoor Elementary School."
