Employee Wore Store-Owned Tie During Work, Took it Home: Cops
The 71-year-old Des Plaines man has been charged with retail theft.

An employee of a Northbrook retail business has been charged with retail theft after allegedly wearing a tie that had been on display during his shift and then leaving work with it.
Police arrested George I. Zervas, 71, Des Plaines at 3:05 p.m. on October 16 at the business in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. According to the store security, the store surveillance cameras recorded Zervas removing a tie valued at $65 from a display rack and wear it for the day. At the end of the employee’s shift the video showed the employee leaving the store without purchasing the merchandise.
