Employees at Potbelly’s in Northbrook Robbed at Gunpoint

Police say a man forced the workers to the ground and ordered them to empty the safe.

NORTHBROOK, IL - Employees at the Potbelly’s in the 800 block of Skokie Highway were robbed at gunpoint and forced to empty the safe while they were preparing to open the business last Saturday morning.

A Black man with a gun “suddenly appeared” at the business at 7:55 a.m. and ordered all the employees to the floor, according to a Northbrook police report. The employees were then forced to remove all the currency from the safe and place it into a bag, which the man snatched before fleeing out the rear door.

Police continue to investigate the incident. No one has been charged.
