Encompass Championship Set for July at North Shore Country Club
Defending champion of annual 50+ tournament praises the Glenview course.
The PGA Champions Tour Encompass Championship, a golf tournament for players 50 and older, will be held again at the North Shore Country Club in Glenview this year, the fourth time the village has hosted the event.
According to the Journal & Topics newspaper, last year’s Encompass winner Tom Lehman praised the club not only for its service at the facility, but for the course, “which can penalize golfers when they make mistakes” during a media preview on Monday.
Encompass Vice President Don Maloney compared North Shore to the famed Augusta course in Georgia, where the PGA Masters Tournament takes place - according to the newspaper.

This year’s Encompass is scheduled for Friday, July 8 through Tuesday, July 12 at the country club, 1340 Glenview Rd.
