Meeting with Local Government Officials to discuss possible contingency programs for future power outages
State Sen. Susan Garrett (D) will host a meeting with local government leaders to discuss ways to keep communities working during power outages.
“During the last power outage, many residents called our office asking if we could have state or local police direct traffic on Route 41 and other roads because of inoperative traffic lights. We need to look at ways to communicate with our residents during these outages, and help manage the crises without relying on ComEd,” Garrett said in a press release. “By bringing communities together, we can address these concerns and find ways to collaborate during these types of emergency situations.”
