Northbrook JCC partners with SilverSneakers® offering expanded healthy living programs for older adults

(September, 2012, Northbrook, IL)—Older adults can now take advantage of Healthways SilverSneakers® Fitness Program, the nation’s leading exercise, health, and wellness program, at the Bernard Weinger JCC, 300 Revere Dr., in Northbrook. SilverSneakers® is designed to help older adults (65+) live more active and healthy lifestyles

 

Everyone is invited to learn more during Open House Week, Monday, September 10 through Friday, September 14, 9am-3pm, at the Bernard Weinger JCC in Northbrook. Visitors can learn more about SilverSneakers®, tour the center, and sign up for classes. SilverSneakers® participants benefit from a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement, and activity for daily skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are provided for resistance.

A J-Fit pass is included with SilverSneakers® membership, providing additional access to JCC workout facilities, including exercise equipment, free weights, barbells, and exercise balls, six-lane, 25-yard, indoor pool, 7000 sq. ft gym, and some fitness classes. J-Fit passes are available to everyone for a one-time or monthly fee.

Registration is now open for SilverSneakers® at www.gojcc.org. No membership is required. Contact your insurance company to find out if SilverSneakers® is offered as a benefit on your plan.
