'Fall-Tastic' Fun Returns With Autumnfest In Northbrook
The annual community event is planned for Oct. 7 at Meadowhill Park.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A free community event returns Oct. 7 with Autumnfest at Meadowhill Park. Organized by the Northbrook Park District, Autumnfest will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1479 Maple Ave.
"Come celebrate the beauty of all things fall," said Nancy Eschker, youth programs manager, in a news release. "Families will delight in all this year’s offerings."
According to organizers, entertainment includes crafts, face painting, a pumpkin patch (one per child while supplies last), pumpkin decorating, pumpkin chucking, music and even a petting zoo with a pony wheel. Children will also have a chance to "ride in style" on a trackless train. Add in s'mores, along with some cider, and the Northbrook Park District is promising a "fall-tastic day."

In addition, there will be a small bounce house and a drum circle inside the Ed Rudolph Velodrome, located adjacent to the park. Families will be able to access both throughout the day.
Autumnfest will also feature a special sensory-friendly hour for the first-time ever, though no spots are left, according to the park district.
