'Felony Lane Gang' Suspected of Car Burglaries in Northbrook
Police chief says crew of auto burglars has been active throughout the Midwest for years.

A crew of auto burglars that have been active throughout the Midwest over the past several years may be responsible for a string of recent car burglaries in Northbrook, police say.
Northbrook Police Chief Charles Wernick said the “Felony Lane Gang” is also suspected of car burglaries in other nearby Chicago suburbs.
The crew’s crimes have taken place in Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois - Wernick says - and specifically target cars in parking lots of schools, day care centers, golf courses, parks and exercise facilities.

“Often, they use the stolen checks and ID’s to withdraw funds from the bank accounts of the victims,” Wernick said. “We strongly urge you to take your valuables from your car or lock them in the trunk, even if you will only be away from the car for a few minutes.”
