Final Chemical Recycling Day Of Year Planned Saturday In Northbrook
Northfield Township residents only can drop off accepted household chemical waste at 237 Melvin Drive.
NORTHBROOK, IL — If you were unable to make June's event, and/or have accumulated more recyclable chemicals since, the Northfield Township will be holding its final collection of 2023 this Saturday. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 237 Melvin Drive.
According to the township, since the majority of hazardous materials used in homes today can be either recycled, reused, or can be safely destroyed, the Northfield Township Road District's Highway Commissioner has entered into an agreement with Tradebe Environmental Services to create a limited Household Hazardous Waste Program. The program is only for homeowners in Northfield Township, where they can safely dispose of their unwanted household cleaning and maintenance products.
Residents at Saturday's event must show identification to indicate they live in Northfield Township and are responsible to remove items from their vehicles.
