Fire Guts Unoccupied Northbrook House: Video
The Northbrook Fire Department responded to a fire Wednesday afternoon in unincorporated Northbrook.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A fire caused significant damage to an unoccupied house Wednesday afternoon in the 4000 block of Timberlane Drive in unincorporated Northbrook. There were no injuries.
Northbrook Fire Department Chief Andrew Carlson told Patch that a passerby called 911 around 1:15 p.m. May 6 to report some smoke coming from the one-story house with a basement.
"The first crews on the scene found fire inside the rear of the house and in the attic," Carlson said. "We believe the cause [of the fire] was water in the electrical panel."
