Flamingo Fridays Kick Off Today

Are you equipped with a pink flamingo yet?

If you're not--or you just want to join in the fun--head over to from 6 to 8 p.m. for the kickoff of Flamingo Fridays. 

The neighborhood gatherings take place every Friday from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Each week, a different person offers up their driveway for the gathering. Neighbors bring lawn chairs, drinks, snacks, kids and anything else necessary to have a good time.

How do you know where the next Flamingo Friday is? Look for the flamingo planted in the host's driveway the Monday or Tuesday before the event.

This year's flamingos were sponsored by Jerry Diamond of , so "no tax dollars were harmed," the village reports.
