Go Green Northbrook set a goal last fall to plant 100 trees in honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
Press release from Go Green Northbrook:
September 23, 2020
Go Green Northbrook set a goal last fall to plant 100 trees in honor of the 50th anniversary of
Earth Day. We wanted to plant trees to beautify where we live, increase the tree canopy,
1 sequester carbon, improve air and water quality and reduce flooding due to Global Warming.
We applied for and received a Chicago Regional Tree Initiative Grant for planting 20 trees at
Salceda Park.

Go Green Northbrook’s, Sharon Brown worked with Ed Dalton at the Northbrook Park District
on choosing the site that would best benefit the parks and address the loss of trees due to
Emerald Ash Borer destruction.
In addition, Go Green Northbrook raised funds for trees and purchased 2 additional tress for
Salceda Park to be planted at the same time.
