Graffiti Found at Meadowhill Park: Cops

$12K worth of blue jeans, t-shirts and purses stolen from Skokie Boulevard store.

SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Gerald Chamberlain, 46, Broadview was stopped at Waukegan Rd. and Walters Ave. at 9:53 p.m. on Dec. 4 and cited for driving on a suspended driver’s license and having expired registration. Officers stopped the defendant’s vehicle after observing a traffic violation.

REVOKED DRIVER’S LICENSE/WARRANT

William Pagan, 54, Chicago was stopped at Willow and Pfingsten roads at 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 and charged with improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and having a revoked driver’s license. He also had a warrant out of Calumet Park. Police in Northfield received a call reporting a vehicle driving erratically westbound on Willow from Waukegan Road. Northbrook police observed the vehicle near the intersection of Willow and Pfingsten and stopped it.

RETAIL THEFT

Erica Lieberman, 49, Highland Park was arrested for retail theft at 5:32 p.m. on Dec. 5. A loss prevention agent in the 1-100 block of Skokie Blvd. reported the defendant had left the business and failed to pay for $156.35 in merchandise. The loss prevention agent reported she observed the defendant placing merchandise in a bag in her shopping cart and in her coat pocket while in the store. She paid for some items at the register but failed to pay from the items in the bag and in her coat.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

A park district employee reported on Dec. 7 discovering several locations in Meadowhill Park, 1500 Maple Ave. where an offender spray painted various pieces of playground equipment and signs. The damage is believed to have occurred sometime over the weekend of Dec. 5 and 6.

RETAIL THEFT

An employee at a store in the 100 block of Skokie Blvd. reported hearing an audible alarm coming from the men’s section of the store at 6:50 p.m. on Dec. 7. When employees went to investigate the reason for the alarm they observed several offenders with their arms full of blue jeans and tee shirts. As the offenders fled from store they grabbed two purses before exiting the store into the parking lot. The employees estimated the loss in merchandise at $12,000. The offenders fled the lot in two vehicles according to the complainant a possible silver Chevrolet van and a light colored Dodge Caravan.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Gregory Smith, 62, Chicago was involved in a car accident at Lake Cook Road and Skokie Boulevard at 4:58 p.m. on Dec. 8 and was charged with driving while license suspended.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

A business owner in the 4100 block of Dundee Rd. reported discovering a small hole in the glass front door near the deadbolt at 2:24 p.m. on Dec. 9. The damage may have been caused by a small pellet or object striking the glass near the deadbolt lock. The glass did not break and no entry was made into the business.

BURGLARY TO AUTO

A victim in the 2700 block of Techny Road reported at 5:40 p.m. on Dec. 9 that offenders broke the front passenger side window of her 2008 Honda and stole her purse and a Dell computer in laptop bag. Purse contained an IPhone 6S, $150 in cash, credit cards and identification.
