Handgun Missing From Bridlewood Residence: Cops
Deerfield man found to have cocaine in his car.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A complainant in the 1200 block of Glenoak reported at 5:18 p.m. on March 8 discovering that someone threw a piece of a 2” x 4” through a window on the first floor. The residents were not home at the time on the incident. Officers are continuing to investigate.

THEFT
A homeowner in the 1-50 block of Bridlewood reported discovering a small gun safe containing a handgun missing from his residence at 1:40 p.m. on March 8. The residence is undergoing renovations and numerous persons have been in the residence during that time. Officers are investigating.

RETAIL THEFT
Yuri M. Minkov, 67, 435 Banyan Dr. was charged with retail theft at 3:55 p.m. on March 7 in the 800 block of Willow Rd. after he was observed by store employees removing five jars of preserves and placing the items in his coat pocket. The defendant then left the store without paying for the merchandise. Officers issued the defendant a local ordinance citation issued and he was released at the scene. The total value of the stolen items was $17.64.
REVOKED DRIVER
Gregorio R. Lagunas, 46, Lake Bluff was stopped at Waukegan Rd. and Maple Ave. at 9:35 p.m. on March 9 and charged with driving while revoked, no proof of insurance and failure to signal. The defendant’s vehicle was observed by officers committing a traffic offense. Officers learned that the defendant’s driver’s license was revoked by the Secretary of State. The defendant was placed under arrest, transported to the station, processing and released after posting bond.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY
A complainant in the 3000 block of Dundee Rd., the property manager, reported an offender attempted to pry open the door to a vacant suite some time between February 23 and March 2. Entry to the building was unsuccessful.
POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Frank G. Karkazis, 51, Deerfield was charged with possession of a controlled substance on March 5 in the 900 block of Skokie Blvd. when officers discovered cocaine in his vehicle. The defendant was placed under arrest, processed and placed in cell awaiting transportation to Skokie bond court.
RETAIL THEFT
Henry W. Carlson, 20, Highland Park was charged with retail theft at 4:37 p.m. on March 6 in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Rd. after he was observed by store loss prevention removing $110 in merchandise. He left the store without paying for the merchandise. A local ordinance citation was issued by officers and the defendant was released at scene.
