'Heavy Set' Man Used Blue Bucket to Steal Tools: Cops

Nearly $1,800 in IPod Nanos reported stolen in separate incident.

SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Samen Johnson, 41, Lincolnwood was stopped in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road at 8:47 a.m. on November 6 and cited for having a suspended driver’s license. Officers stopped the defendant’s vehicle for a traffic violation.

SUSPENDED DRIVER

Daniel Rivera, 19, Waukegan was stopped at Landwehr Rd. and Riverfalls Dr. at 11:46 a.m. on November 7 and cited for driving with a suspended license. Officers stopped the defendant’s vehicle for a traffic violation.

RETAIL THEFT

A store employee in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported that five offenders entered the store at 4:30 p.m. on November 7 and removed 12 Ipod Nanos by concealing them in their clothes. The offenders were between the ages of 20 years old and 40 years old. The total value of stolen merchandise is $1,788.00. The store video of the theft was provided to officers.

RETAIL THEFT

Philip A. Gagerman, 57, Glenview was charged with retail theft at 4:02 p.m. on November 8 in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. The defendant purchased merchandise from the store which the clerk placed into a bag and handed to the defendant. Prior to leaving the store, the defendant was observed by security, removing three pairs of socks from a display shelf and placing the socks into the bag. The store security observed the defendant leave the store without paying for the $90 in merchandise.

SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Dennis J. Lashoff, 33, Boca Raton, Fla. was stopped at Waukegan Road and Walters Ave. at 10:43 p.m. on November 10 and cited for driving while suspended and no tail lights. Officers stopped the vehicle driven by the defendant when they observed that the tail lights were inoperable.

RETAIL THEFT

A complainant in the 1000 block of Willow Rd. reported that a heavy set male offender entered the store. Security cameras recorded the offender walking around the store with an empty blue bucket. Later the offender is recorded on video with a bucket full of items, picking up a DeWalt biscuit jointer and leaving the store without paying the merchandise. The complainant determined that the merchandise stolen was 24 electrical circuit breakers and a biscuit jointer totaling $1,108.68.
