Helping Ukraine: Maple School Club Seeking Supplies

Donations will be collected through Friday at the Northbrook school.

NORTHBROOK, IL — If you're looking to help people in Ukraine, some local students can make that happen this week. Maple School's Service Learning Club will be collecting supplies to send to the war-ravaged country starting Monday through Friday, March 11.

According to Northbrook/Glenview District 30, donations will be collected in the front vestibule of Maple School, 2370 Shermer Road. Donations will be brought to the shipping location after the half day of school on Friday.

The club is asking people to consider the following items:

FOOD ITEMS

  • quinoa
  • rice
  • pasta
  • macaroni and cheese
  • oats
  • grits
  • granola bars
  • crackers
  • dried nuts and fruits
  • canned soups
  • canned fruits and vegetables
  • canned meat and seafood

CLOTHING/OTHER ESSENTIALS

  • Socks for men, women and children
  • hygiene products (toothpaste/brushes, shampoo and deodorant)
  • baby products (diapers, formula, bottles, wipes and clothing)
  • blankets
  • sleeping bags
  • disposable tableware
  • basic first aid kits
