Howlin' Halloween Fun Coming To Northbrook On Oct. 21
The Northbrook Park District will be hosting a night of Halloween activities for the whole family at Techny Prairie Park and Fields.

The Northbrook Park District will be hosting a night of Halloween activities for the whole family! On Friday, Oct. 21, wrangle your crew for the Halloween 3K Fun Run. Before that, dress up your furry companion for the Halloween Pet Parade.

5 p.m. • Halloween Pet Parade
It’s the time of the year to show off your adorable companions! Dress up your pet in their favorite costume and head over to Techny Prairie Park and Fields, 1800 Techny Road. Take part in the pet parade followed by a costume contest including winners for best look-alike pet, pet and owner combo costume and the spookiest animal. After the parade, there will be some leash-friendly activities.
“We are very excited for our first ever Halloween Pet Parade and are happy to provide an opportunity for our residents to participate in Halloween fun with their furry family members,” Fitness Supervisor Rachel Tandy said.

When registering, provide number of pets, what type of pet and weight. Must be 18 and over to register and must be present at the event. Pets must remain leashed at all times. Register online by Oct. 19.
6 p.m. • Halloween 3K Fun Run
Have you ever seen a hot dog run a 3K? Grab your costume and join the Northbrook Park District for the third annual Halloween 3K Fun Run/Walk through a decorated Halloween Techny Prairie Park and Fields course. The 3K Run is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit! After the race there will be fun themed activities and a costume contest with a variety of different categories including best costume and best group costume. Register online by Oct. 19.
“The Halloween 3K offers fun for the whole family, said Recreation Supervisor Cameron Edelman. “There is something for everyone: an awesome Halloween themed course to run on, post-race candy and food, inflatables, and if that was not enough, carnival games and a costume contest with categories including best youth and adult costume and best group costume!”
