Shooting Cancels 4th Of July Parade, Fireworks In Northbrook
Following a mass shooting in Highland Park, all activities scheduled for Monday afternoon and night have been canceled.
UPDATE: Due to a mass shooting in Highland Park Monday, all remaining afternoon and evening 4th of July related activities in Northbrook have been canceled.
The Village of Northbrook said in a statement:
"All remaining Northbrook 4th of July activities, including the bike parade, mile-long parade, and fireworks show have been canceled following the news of a shooting in Highland Park earlier today. Our thoughts are with our Highland Park neighbors."

- 7:30 a.m. — Rotary Club of Northbrook's 4th of July Breakfast at Village Green Park
- 7:30 a.m. — Park District's Liberty Loop 5K Run/Walk at Techny Prairie Park & Fields
- 8:30 a.m. — Liberty Lap Fun Run
- 10 a.m. — Gather to cheer on Northbrook's first responders at the Police vs. Fire Softball Game at Village Green Park
- 2:15 p.m. — Bike Parade will kick off at Cherry Lane and Western Avenue
- 2:30 p.m. — Mile-long Parade
- 7 p.m. — Gather at Meadowhill Park for DJ entertainment at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome.
- Dusk — Finish your 4th of July celebration with a boom at the spectacular fireworks display, which can be viewed from Meadowhill Park and Techny Prairie Park & Fields.
