Life Time Fitness Latest Proposal for Skokie Boulevard

Zoning would need to be amended to include a residential component for the mixed-use plan.

The latest proposal for a mixed use development for 1000 Skokie Boulevard in Northbrook (the Commonwealth Edison property) is an 86,000 square foot Life Time Fitness health club facility that would anchor the 523,000 square foot area that has been the subject of numerous controversial proposals for that location in recent years.

The Life Time Fitness project would also feature “a 338 unit luxury rental apartment complex and a yet to be defined use which could be a high end child facility,” the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce reported in late December.

The Life Time Fitness would be a three-story building located in the middle 7.5 acres of the lot and include a 40,000 square foot outdoor pool and deck with 389 parking spaces.
