Man Sentenced For Sexually Abusing Boy At North Shore Fitness Center: Village
The 73-year-old Highland Park man pled guilty to felony charges stemming from the July 2024 incident.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A Highland Park man has been sentenced following a recent conviction on two felony charges stemming from a 2024 incident in which he sexually abused a 15-year-old boy at a Northbrook fitness center.
Michael A. Tobin, 73, of the 400 block of Ashland Place, was convicted in Cook County Circuit Court of criminal sexual abuse and aggravated battery on Feb. 17. According to the Village of Northbrook, he was sentenced to 24 months of probation and mandatory registration as a sex offender for 10 years.
The incident occured on July 6, 2024, at Life Time Fitness, 1100 Skokie Blvd. The investigation began when the victim disclosed the abuse to his mother, who called 911.

As sex offenses are often under reported, the Northbrook Police Department is asking anyone who believes they or a family member may have been abused by Tobin to either contact them at 847-564-2060 or their local law enforcement agency.
