Man Seriously Injured After Being Caught in Machinery at Northbrook Plant
Firefighters worked for more than a half-hour to free the man Tuesday morning.

NORTHBROOK, IL - A man was seriously injured Tuesday morning in Northbrook after he was caught in steel-fabricating machinery at a metal fabricating plant in town, according to a Northbrook Star report.
The man, who is an employee of a local business, was airlifted by a Flight for Life helicopter from the rear of Metals USA at 3000 Shermer Road to a local hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
Northbrook Fire Chief Jose Torres said paramedics began at 10:30 a.m. to release the man’s “lower extremities” from a piece of steel-rolling equipment.

"We're hopeful he's going to be all right,” Torres said. “He was talking to us."
