Maple School Students Perform Holiday Songs For Seniors

NORTHBROOK, IL — Middle school musicians performed seasonal songs and presented handmade holiday cards to local seniors last week. Maple School students have performed at Rosewood Care Center every year for more than two decades, according to Northbrook/Glenview District 30. Continuing the tradition, the Maple School jazz band, orchestra and sixth-grade choir performed on Dec. 6.

Students also passed out holiday cards created during advisory class periods. The brought smiles to faces of many residents, while the holiday music got hands clapping and toes tapping. This year's performance was coordinated by Choir Director Decima Panitch, Band Director Mike Vecchio, and Orchestra Director Renee Yoo, according to the district.
