On March 9th: Rehab Specialist Leads Workshop on Proper Posture at Five Seasons Northbrook
Headaches, stiff necks, carpal tunnel issues, fatigue and back pain are frequently linked to our posture, expert says.
Our posture plays a much more significant role in our health than we realize—one of many points that an expert will convey in a free presentation on Monday, March 9th, at Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Northbrook.
The “Proper Posture Bootcamp Workshop,” led by Andreas Papakostas, is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the club, 1300 Techny Road, and will cover a host of topics.
Among the areas he will address: signs of poor posture and the stress it causes on the spine, symptoms associated with the three main posture distortions, why being “comfortable” can lead to discomfort, and a visual posture screening demonstration.

Papakostas will also discuss proper ergonomics when at a work station as well as home stretching and retraining movements. An athletic trainer, he has spoken to a variety of athletic organizations and corporations in the Chicago area.
Headaches, stiff necks, carpal tunnel issues, fatigue, back pain—or some combination of those and other health problems—are frequently linked to our posture, according to Papakostas.
