Wednesday’s meeting is expected to include cross-examination by participants who completed the required form before the start of public testimony, followed by the applicant’s responses to questions raised during the hearing.
Once cross-examination is complete, the applicant may respond to questions and comments received. The public hearing will then close, according to the village. Plan Commission deliberations also are expected.

What Is Proposed
Pulte Home Company LLC is seeking approval to redevelop the privately owned shopping center at 1901 Cherry Lane, at the southeast corner of Cherry Lane and Meadow Road.
The application, identified as “The Flats and Shops at North Branch,” calls for 150 for-sale condominiums in three buildings and two parcels for future commercial redevelopment, each containing 5,500 square feet of building space.
The proposal has drawn opposition over building height, density, traffic, flooding, school impacts and the amount of commercial space. An online petition opposing the development had collected 5,606 verified signatures as of Sept. 25, as Patch previously reported.
Village Board Has Final Say
The Plan Commission’s review follows the Village Board’s August decision to send the application to commissioners, reversing an earlier vote to conduct the public hearing itself.
Commissioners will make a recommendation on the application, but the Village Board retains final approval authority. During the August discussion, village officials emphasized that the commission’s role is advisory and does not constitute final action on the development.
