More Than 66 Businesses to Be Showcased at Multi-Chamber Expo

The event will be July 25 and includes exhibitors from the Northbrook, Glenview and Deerfield Bannockburn Riverwoods chambers of commerce.

The following press release was submitted by the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce:

There will be non-stop opportunities to learn more about a wide variety of businesses, test out new products and services, and form relationships with business owners at this year’s Expo and After Hours. At the event, over 66 exhibitors from the Northbrook, Glenview and the Deerfield Bannockburn Riverwoods (DBR) Chambers will showcase their businesses in new and creative ways, with colorful displays, helpful information and plenty of chances to win prizes, to make the event fun for all attendees.

In the convenience of one setting, attendees will learn more about a wide variety of businesses. There will be opportunities to learn more everything from gardening to grooming, hospitality to healthcare, as well as the latest trends in home products and home design. At the Expo, guests can sample products, check out restaurant fare, see live demonstrations, learn about the latest in technology, and discover new businesses. It is also a convenient way to meet the owners and managers of prominent area businesses without the formality of a scheduled appointment.

The Expo is a terrific resource for gaining a better understanding of a product or service that can improve your business efficiency. Harley Korman, Korman Lederer & Associates comments that the Expo has helped him gain a better understanding of how Chamber businesses can help him. “Scott Bosley with Ensol Energy and I had spoken many times at Chamber After Hours and on the phone. It wasn’t until I saw his demonstration at the Expo that I truly understood how his products could make our buildings more energy efficient and affordable to operate,” he says. “This is not the first time that I’ve picked up on something at the Expo that has helped me to run my business. Spending a couple of hours at the event has always proven to be beneficial.”

The event allows attendees the opportunity to make unexpected new connections. Last year the owners of Juniper Boutique stopped to talk with Ron Goldblatt, NorthShore Loyalty where they learned more about his mobile marketing program that works for retail businesses. T hey explained that they were looking to enhance their current marketing efforts beyond Facebook and e-mail. Eventually, Ron developed a complete mobile solution for Juniper, including a loyalty program with a birthday element, messaging to encourage customers to return for specific events, a re-engagement program for customers, and text programs to drive traffic during slower periods.

“So much of the Expo is visual which is ideal for my business” comments Lise Schleicher, BasketWorks. Attendees are drawn to her display - even people she knows from other networking events - who are curious about her baskets. “Every year people place orders with me at the Expo --it’s just a terrific way for people to really understand your product line.”

With three Chambers again participating in the event this year, the Expo is also a good opportunity to expand your circle of professional contacts. Many members report that they appreciate being able spend time with the businesses and really get to know what they are all about.

The event is open to the public and is expected to attract hundreds of professionals from area communities.
